Savanna Private Game Lodge is situated in the internationally famous Sabi Sand Reserve within the greater Kruger National Park conservation area.

Savanna lies in an area where 'Big 5' sightings are so frequent, it is not unusual to see lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino in a single game drive. Specially designed game viewing vehicles and highly trained guides with vast knowledge of the African bushveld, take guests on close and intimate encounters with a large variety of wildlife. Numerous nearby dams and a series of waterholes in front of the lodge attract many species, especially in the dry winter months when elephants are daily visitors. A close-knit team of friendly staff provides personalised service with each guest regarded as a valued friend. From the moment they arrive guests feel part of the Savanna 'family'. Nine magnificent suites offer spacious and luxurious accommodation. Seven of the suites have tented roofs, blending the elegance of a by-gone colonial era with all the convenience of modern facilities. A deposit of 50% of the total accommodation charge is required to confirm the reservation. 10% of the full accommodation charge is non-refundable. We advise that all travellers purchase travel insurance that provides full cancellation cover. We regret that we do not accommodate children under the age of eight years, unless the whole camp or the whole Savanna Suite is booked. Children 16 years and younger sharing with an adult pay 50% of the full rate. Travel documents, such as passports and visas to enter the country, are the responsibility of the individual guest. South Africa passport control has become very strict, to the point of deporting a number of guests due to their passports not complying with requirements. There must be at least three blank visa pages in the passport (not endorsement pages). An on site emergency medical service is available which includes evacuation to a private hospital in Nelspruit if necessary. Since malaria is present in the Mpumalanga region where Savanna is situated, it is essential to ensure that anti-malaria precautions be taken throughout the year.
